Mouawad Triumphant in Poker Stars EPT London Final

On September 30th, 2007, poker pro Joseph Mouawad from Lebanon made history when he won the Poker Stars European Poker Tour London final table. He won 611,520 pounds. There were about 400 players in the event.

Mouawad was not the chip leader at the start of the event. Florian Langmann from Germany was the chip leader at the start of the day and survived the rest of the field until he was defeated by Mouawad in the heads-up showdown.

The final table of the event included Florian Langmann from Germany, Joseph Mouawad from Lebanon, Marcel Baran from Germany, Josh Egan from New Zealand, Anthony Lellouche from France, Paul Mendes from Britain, Ian Cox from Britain and Fredrik Haugen from Sweden, Cox finished in 8th place with 57,075 pounds, Mendes finished in 7th place with 77,459 pounds, Lellouche finished in 6th place with 97,843 pounds, Haugen, the Caribbean Poker Classic champion finished in 5th place with 124,342 pounds, Josh Egan finished in 4th place with 152,880 pounds.

It only took few card hands for Langmann to defeat Baran in 3rd place. Baran won 203,840 pounds for his performance. It only took about one hour to decide the champion of the event as Mouawad steadily pulled away from Langmann and carefully built his lead. Langmann eventually finished in 2nd place for 346,528 pounds.
