Matt Savage to Direct The Matt Vasgersian Poker Tournament

Both professional and amateur poker players can join the Texas Hold'em poker tournament at the Inaugural Matt Vasgersian Charity Texas Hold'em tournament on August 2, 2007 at the Hall of Champions located in Balboa Park.

The first round of the tournament will begin at 6:00 p.m. Matt Vasgersian, who has hosted the NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship in NBC and the Celebrity Blackjack in the Game Show Network (GSN) has appointed renowned poker tournament director, Matt Savage, to handle the events.

Matt Savage is one of the most sought after poker event directors in the world. He has managed the World Series of Poker for the last 3 years and appeared on different channels like ESPN, Fox Sports Net and the Travel Channel.

Matt Vasgersian's television coverage partner, Channel 4 Sam Diego Mark Grant and Mark Grace from the Arizona Diamondbacks will also play for 2 charities - the Tender Loving Canines, Assistance Dogs and Family Health Centers of San Diego.

Anyone that wants to participate in the event can register at the 4sd.com. The buy-in at the poker tournament is $200 per player, with the option of a $100 rebuy fee. Guests are required to pay $50.

Those that play poker at the Matt Vasgersian Tournament are eligible for food and drinks, tournament gifts and the chance to bid on items in the auction by paying the entry fee.

The final poker table of the Matt Vasgersian Poker Tournament will compete for a trip to the strip, which includes airplane tickets, hotel accommodation and a $1,000 buy-in fee at the Bellagio Hotel.
