Leading Poker Players Converge in the Irish Poker Open

On March 28, 2007, some of the best poker players from all over the world confirmed their attendance for the 26th annual Irish Poker Open. This poker tournament will take place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin during Easter weekend, April 6-9, 2007.

Famous host of the World Poker Tour TV Series, Mike Sexton, who is also a World Series of Poker bracelet handler, will be attending the tournament, as well as Hollywood Actress Jennifer Tilly and Poker Pro Phil Laak.

Phil Laak, aka the "Unabomber", is very happy with his opportunity to play in his hometown. Fellow Poker Pro and WSOP bracelet holder, Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari will also be participating in the event along with countrymen Poker Pro Chad Brown who also works as a TV presenter and actor.

Other professional players of the game of poker who have confirmed their participation are WPA Head Jesse Jones, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, Roland De Wolfe, Donnacha O'Dea, Padraig Parkinson, Andy Black, Roy "the Boy" Brindley, "Mad" Marty Wilson, Dave Colclough, Lee Nelson, Jan Molby, Michael Greco, Barny Boatman, Scott Gray, Ivo Donev, Rolf Slotboom and Julian Gardner.

Player registration is still continuing from all over the globe and more than half of the 700 slots in the poker tournament are already filled.
