Largest Asian Poker Classic Tournament Set for India

The Asian Poker Classic scheduled in India will be the largest Asian poker tournament to date.

On February 4, 2007, the organizers of the Asian Poker Classic announced that a minimum of an additional $250,000 will be added to the prize pool.

With the additional cash money, it means that there will be a total of over $1 million at stake for the first professional poker tournament in India.

According to officials of Maharajah club, one of the sponsors of the poker tournament, the tournament is expected to be the largest tournament in Asia.

Meanwhile, Minaxshi Shah, the Asian Poker Classic Director of Events, said that they are expecting between 150 to 200 players to join in and play poker at the tournament.

Famous professional poker players, as well as celebrities are expected to be part of the tournament. The tournament is being held in the 5 star Intercontinental Grand Resort in Goa, providing an excellent setting for the tournament.

Director of the tournament, Thomas Kremser, stated that the tournament is not only one of the largest events planned for India this year, but they are expecting it to be the grandest poker tourney in the world for 2007.
