The Ladies International Poker Series Starts on August 23rd, 2008 in Peru

The Ladies International Poker Series will be bringing its tour on the road for the very first international poker series that will be held in Peru. LIPS has collaborated with Pro Poker Challenge of America to head to the Casino Atlantic City located in Miraflores, Peru beginning on August 23rd, 2008 to September 1st, 2008.

The event will begin with a Mega Satellite on August 23rd, 2008 that will give the winner a week's entry to all of the poker events, including the $1,080 main event. The series will also offer daily poker events starting from $225 to $550 before the $1,080 main event. Those events are scheduled to include a bounty a tournament and ladies-only poker event.

The schedule for the tournament is as follows: August 25th, 2008, 6:00 p.m. No Limit Holdem event with a buy-in cost of $230. August 26th, 2008, 6:00 p.m. No Limit Holdem Bounty event with a buy-in cost of $280. August 27th, 2008, 6:00 p.m. No Limit Holdem with $100 rebuys with a buy-in cost of $230. August 28th, 2008 6:00 p.m. No Limit Holdem with a buy-in cost of $340.

August 29th, 2008 6:00 p.m. No Limit Hold'em with a buy-in cost of $550. August 30th, 2008 6:00 p.m. Ladies LIPS tourney with a buy-in cost of $230. August 30th, 2008 8:00 P.M. Super Satellite with $100 rebuys with a buy-in cost of $175. August 31st, 2008 6:00 p.m. No Limit Hold'em championship with $1,080. September 1st, 2008 6:00 p.m. Championship final table. One of the advantages of playing poker in Peru is that participants can sight see in between event because it is only allowed to play poker from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Lupe Soto, the founder of the LIPS Tour said that they are very happy with their ongoing expansion in Latin American. She added that this is just a start of poker tourism that they are trying to promote. The LIPS events are expected to attract top class players. Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher will be the featured guests in the series. The two players will also be on hand for the poker strategy seminar that participants can take part on.
