Kara Scott to Co-Host the 6th Season of the High Stakes Poker Tournament

GSN announced on November 5th, 2009 that a 6th season of High Stakes Poker (HSP) was coming to the network and for the first time ever in HSP's history, Gabe Kaplan will be joined by a female co-host. Kaplan's co-host will be none other than former EPT (European Poker Tour) host Kara Scott, who will also interview poker players in the high-stakes room in the Golden Nugget about poker technique, card hands and poker table dynamics.

As usual, the player line-up for the 6th season will feature some of the biggest names in the poker circuit will be participating in the HSP like David Benyamine, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Eli Elezra, Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Mike Matusow, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.

New faces for the 6th season of the HSP include 2008 world series of poker Main Event 3rd place finisher Dennis Phillips, aggressive and tough Dutch Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis, 2007 EPT (European Poker Tour) Dortmund winner Andreas Hoivold and outspoken British poker pro Sammy "Any Two" George.

There will be several more poker players added to the roster before the show airs as the final line-up is subject to change. HSP will once again feature a minimum buy-in cost of $200, which should produce some big pots. Last year, Dwan shocked the poker circuit by winning a massive $919,600 prize pot from Barry Greenstein. Kara Scott brings a substantial poker experience to her role as HSP co-host.

Aside from her role as presenter for the European Poker Tour, Scott has also acted as the main host for Poker Night Live and one of the personalities on Sky Poker. Scott has also enjoyed success as a poker player going deep in both the 2008 and 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. She also finished in 2nd place in the 2009 Irish Open for 312,000 euros.

Aj Benza, who acted as co-host for all 5 previous seasons of the HSP will not be returning for the 6th season of the show. The 6th season of the High Stakes Poker show will be shown on February 14th, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET on GSN and will be broadcasted every Sunday in the same timeslot.
