On December 24th, 2007, Hendon Mob's Joe Beever has shut the door on the year 2007 with a $1 million payout at the Poker Million VI in London. Beever was able to outwit one of the toughest final tables in any poker history. He was able to outwit players like In Cox, Howard Lederer, Liam Flood, Julian Gardner and tournament runner up Marty Smyth on his way to the championship.
It was a mixed of ups and downs for Joe, which saw him as the chip leader and in short stack position in a lot of occasions. His one on one showdown with last year's runner-up Marty Smyth were held during the early hours of morning and both individuals looked that they could have won the whole thing.
The fortunes swung in Beever's favor when the Sun Poker were getting heavy and the pocket nines of Beever stand against Kings of Smyth. It has culminated a good year for Joe Beever, which begin when he had made the final table of the HORSE EVENT at the WSOPE.
Beever also won the Great British Poker Tour main event in Bristol for 87,500 pounds. Beever's total poker tournament play winnings are more than $1.2 million. Marty Smyth won $500,000 for his efforts.
