Ladbrokes Poker announced just last week that its 250,000 euros guaranteed Irish Poker Festival will be filmed for a documentary show. The event will happen in Killarney, Ireland on October 2nd, 2008 and will end on October 5th, 2008. The documentary will follow the 550 euros buy-in cost European ranking tournament. It is planned to be showed on Irish terrestrial Television station TG4 and for distribution to networks all over the world. Ladbrokes Poker will also feature a web stream of the documentary.
Roy "The Boy" Brindley, a poker pro sponsored by Ladbrokes Poker said that the television coverage by Terrestrial television for the Irish Poker Festival is good development for the event and is one of the reasons why poker players should take the opportunity to join the tournament. He added that the participants will be attracted to the huge cash prize and the European ranking points. The Irish Poker Festival is expected to draw more than six hundred players from around the European continent.
Along with the 550 euros main event starting on October 3rd, 2008 and ending on October 5th, 2008, the tournament will also feature a 300 euros no limit holdem freezeout on October 4th, 2008 and a 170 euros no limit on October 5th, 2008. Poker players can qualify for the main event each Monday at 7:30 p.m. GMT at Ladbrokes Poker.
The weekly satellite events have a $137.50 buy-in cost and feature one prize package for the tournament for every $1,250 in the cash pool. The prize package includes the buy-in fee for the main event plus a two night stay for two at the Gleneagle Hotel were the tournament is being held.
The online site is also featuring super satellites for as low as $5 that will get poker players into the daily finals. The daily finals possess a direct buy-in cost of $33 and will take place Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30 p.m. GMT. Players will move on to the weekly final from there. Even if a poker player does not manage to get a seat through a satellite event at Ladbrokes Poker, they can still use the site to register for the main event.
The poker site is featuring twenty-four hours/seven days registration for the main event in the MTT area of its gaming lobby.
