The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour at the Victoria Casino

On March 29th, 2009, the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour have been impressing everyone even during this tough times with the big turnouts for their side poker events and strong playing field for their main poker events. The main event at the Victoria Casino took the step of improving their main event buy-in cost to 1,500 pounds and poker players said that they loved it.

Around 398 poker players made the trip to the Victoria Casino in London making one of the largest cash pools ever seen in a UK poker event, with an astonishing 172,850 pounds going to the champion. The player field is already down to the final fourteen players. The current chip leader is Jamie Brown who came very close in winning the championship last year and impressed a lot of people with his run. Poker player Dave Colclough is also one of the front runners in the event, vying for a 3rd Grosvenor UK Poker Tour trophy after triumphing in the main in the 1st season and a side poker event this year.

The "Hit Squad" is also making waves at the UK poker scene like current GUKPT champion Sunny Chattha and his brother Charles Chattha who is 5th place in total chips. The current chip leaders are Jamie Brown with 797,500 chips, Martin Silke with 786,000, Cuong Tran with 480,500 chips, Julien Legros with 448,000 chips, Charles Chattha with 319,000, Andreas Hagen with 306,500 chips, Luke Trotman with 288,500 chips, Samuel Oatley with 263,000 chips, David Colclough with 257,500 chips, Kevin Jenkins with 232,000 chips, Sunny Chatta with 196,500 chips, Simon Eastwood with 190,500 chips, Erik Backlund with 138,000 chips and Johnny Baughman with 82,500 chips.
