Essex County ATV Club Holds Charity Poker Run

A poker run was held by the Essex County ATV Club on November 4th. The poker run started and ended at the AMA Sportsmen's Club in Amherstburg.

The poker run was held for the benefit of the Amherstburg Food Bank, generating $1,588 for the cause.

This poker run was the brainchild of Paul and Elenor Renaud, both of whom are members of the ECATV Club. The pair felt that there was no better time to support the Food Bank than the impending holidays.

Essex MP Jeff Watson was one of the participants in the poker run. An estimated 60 people joined the charity event.

Dealer support was channeled by STS PowerSports in Amherstburg, Rick's Performance in Harrow, Renaud Can-Am in Harrow, Legends Motorsports in Windsor, Essex Ford Tractor in Essex, Power Cycle in Windsor and Hudson's Honda in Tilbury.

Council support was given by the towns Amherstburg and Kingsville, as well as Essex County.

ERCA lent a helping hand by allowing use of the Holiday Beach and the John R. Park homestead for the comfort of the participants. Heritage Village also allowed the use of their facilities so that the poker riders could take a break at the halfway point of the route.
