Poker pro Erik Seidel missed out on the opportunity to win his 9th world series of poker bracelet on June 9th, 2009. However, his consolation prize is being able to give nearly $25,000 to charity. Seidel busted early at the final table of the $1,500 Pot Limit Holdem event despite having entered the final table 3rd in chips.
Before the start of the final table, Seidel tweeted that he would donate any money he won from this event to children's charities. His 7th place finish means a total of $24,919 earmarked for children's charities. Seidel said that he is disappointed with his performance. He added that although his fellow players in the final table were not well-known, they are all very good players.
Among Seidel's fellow final tablemates were online poker pro Ravi "govshark2" Raghaven (a Sunday Million winner) and WSOPC Hammond finalist Jason Dewitt, the latter of whom sent Seidel home with a flopped set of eights.
