
The penultimate poker stop on the 5th season of the PokerStars European Poker Tour begins on April 18th, 2009. The buy-in cost for the tournament is 5,000 euros and the tournament will be limited at 800 participants.
This poker event market the Italian launch of the European Poker Tour one year ago and a huge playing field of 701 poker players bought into the event to create an astounding cash pool worth 3.1 million euros. It was American Jason Mercier who topped the playing field to take home 869,000 euros at the final table which also features Team PokerStars pro and Italian fan favorite Dario Minieri.
The San Remo EPT stop will also feature a charity poker tournament to help the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake. The charity no-limit poker event features a 1,200 euros buy-in cost, with two hundred euros going directly to the Poker for Life and Red Cross. PokerStars will contribute an additional $300 for each player who participates on the event.
