The Debut of the 2nd Season of the Best Damn Poker Show

On January 12th, 2009, the Fox Sports Network will show the season premiere of the 2nd season of the Best Damn Poker Show tonight at 9:00 p.m. The Best Damn Poker show, which is sponsored by UltimateBet.net, showcases twenty-four poker playing hopefuls as they compete to be the last player standing in the event. The participants are taught by Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. Dave Stann was the overall winner in the first season of the Best Damn Poker Show.

In the 2nd season, the participants range from a 22 year-old student to a fifty-eight year old artist. Some participants submitted a video to show, telling why they should be picked, while other participants were picked from the crowd at the 2008 world series of poker to audition on the show and then compete. There will be 7 episodes in all, with each show debuting at 9:00 p.m. on Monday and showing again at 11:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

Annie Duke has been seen on television quite a bit lately and is poised to be seen more this year. A regular on the Poker After Dark, the Tournament of Champions winner has been picked to compete on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice this year.
