Eleven online poker players will be representing Team Bodog at the North American Poker Championship slated to take place October 25-29th. One of these players who will be donning Bodog's trademark black and white colors could very well be television's next poker superstar.
The event will be held at the Niagara Fallsview Casino and Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This is the only Canadian stop on the 2006 World Poker Tour.
All 11 players for Bodog are amateurs, and this is their big shot at getting their much needed game and media exposure, not to mention the chance to compete against their poker idols. All the players at team Bodog qualified for the event through the various satellite tournaments offered at Bodog.com.
Each player's prize package includes a $10,000 CAD tournament buy-in, travel expenses, and official Team Bodog gear.
"It's every amateur player's dream to be on television sitting across the table from some of the best players in the world at a WPT final table, and Bodog.com Poker is thrilled to have played a major role in helping our players realize their dreams," says Calvin Ayre, Founder of Bodog.com, and host of the poker TV series, Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker, which airs Fox Sports Net.
"With the amazing success of Team Bodog at this year's WSOP, Bodog.com Poker has proven that it's an effective training ground for players who eventually graduate to playing and winning tournaments at land-based casinos," adds Ayre.
