On May 11, 2007, poker pros from all over the world headed to London for the Betfair Poker Masters. Poker Champions from the EPT, WPT, Aussie Million, the Betfair Asian poker tournament and the WSOP participated in the event.
The Betfair Poker Masters tournament is an exclusive 36 player tournament. The tournament was televised and held at Riverside Studios that day.
Six preliminary events were held before the final tournament table was played on May 14, 2007. A cash pool of $300,000 could be the main reason why many poker stars attended the event.
Some of the poker stars who participated in the event were from Betfair Poker, WPT Champions, like Tony G, Juha Helppi and EPT Champion Roland de Wolfe.
EPT winners, Ram Vaswani, Vicky Coren and WSOP Bracelet winner, Willie Tann, also participated in the event.
Marc Goodwin and Thomas Bhil held a seminar on the game of poker for the audience on May 12, 2007. Roland de Wolfe is the favorite for the title. The Betfair Poker Masters will be shown on Sky Sports during the last week of May 2007.
