Betfair Asian Poker Tour Has Online Counterpart

A succession of online poker tournaments will run alongside the Betfair Asian Poker Tour's live event in Singapore, slated to take place from Nov. 12th to the 17th, 2006 at the Mandarin Ballroom of the Meritus Mandarin Hotel.

By holding the online poker tournament, Betfair Poker is giving those who were not able to make it to Singapore for the live tournament a chance to take part in the event. For the online counterpart of the Betfair Asian Poker Tour, Betfair Poker will be adding $100,000 in Asian themed prizes.

Prizes for the online tourney will include a five night all expense paid holiday at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the world's only 7 star hotel, as well as trips to Hong Kong and Bali, Indonesia.

Tournament players can also win Sony and Samsung electric gadgets, plus a years supply of Asian beer and BAPT merchandise.

"We want all of our players to feel part of the Betfair Asian Poker Tour whether they are in Singapore or not," said Head of Poker Ben Fried.

The online series of events starts with a $5 + $0.50 tournament on Monday, Nov. 13th, and will end with a $100 + $9 Main Event on Saturday, Nov 18th.

Daily satellites to the Main Event have already begun on Betfair Poker at 20:00 (GMT) and 21:30 (GMT), with buy-ins of $5 + $0.50 and $10 + $1 respectively.
