On August 27th, 2008, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is making history again at the Galaxy StarWorld Casino and Hotel in Macau as Asia's biggest poker event gets underway. The event will also be filmed and broadcasted all over the world. Players can buy-in for HK$1,000,000 or $130,000, the starting blinds are HK$3,000-HK$6,000, the straddling and blinds will depend on the decision of the players. Some of the players that are expected to participate in the event are Todd Brunson, Johnny Chan, Nam Le, JC Tran, Kenny Tran, John Juanda, Steve Sung, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Roger Spets, Sean Buchanan, Chris Parker and others.
The whole action will be overseen by poker tournament director Matt Savage. The early action is already on the go with John Juanda getting a HK$1,000,000 cash pot off Chris Parker. Parker, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Poker Tour, said that it is very difficult to predict on what will happen in the game. The main event of the Asian Poker Tour Macau is on Day1B as two hundred fifty-seven players' line-up for a guaranteed cash pool of $1.5 million and a guaranteed first place cash prize of $500,000.
The chip leader for the Day1A was Guray Turkay together with Carter Gil and PartyPoker.com Million VI champion Alexander Jung. An interesting line-up of poker player is at the StarWorld Casino and Hotel for the historic $5,300($5,000 + $300) poker event. Among those players spotted in the event include Johnny Chan, Todd Brunson, Liz Lieu, J.C Tran, Kenny Tran, John Juanda, Nam Le, Quinn Do, Steve Sung, Huck Seed, David 'Chino' Rheem, Mel Judah, Mansour Matloubi, Harry Demetriou, Richard En, Mike 'Timex' McDonald, Aaron Kanter, JJ Liu and even Asian Poker Tour Philippines champion David Saab.
