The PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau Summer Poker Festival is off to a good start in the Asian gaming Mecca. The 1st week of preliminary events in Macau, China has seen almost one thousand participants at the Grand Lisboa including one hundred fifty for a HKD$1,500 Deep Stack event and 122 participants for a HKD$10,000 buy-in tournament.
The Grand Lisboa hotel and casino also became the location to Asia's 1st Limit Holdem event hosted by limit specialist and PokerStars.net sponsored player Terrence Chan last week. The 3rd edition o the HKD$40,000 main event started on August 25th, 2009 and seems poised to maintain its position as the biggest and richest poker tournament on the Asian region.
In the 2nd season, twenty-two year old Eddie Sabat won the title and HKD$3,540,04 1st place cash prize at the Main Event. But all is not good news for the fledgling Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) however. APPT Seoul, which is originally planned for September 17th, 2009 until September 20th, 2009 has been postponed.
