On May 11th, 2008, the cruise ship MSC Poesia proved to be a good venue for the final table of the Party Poker Million VI and its champion, Alexander Jung. The German Poker Player edged out a player field of 171 players to claim the 1st place cash prize of $358,000 and the exquisite glass trophy. Even with the beautiful scenery, the participants had little time to unwind as they vied to get the biggest part of the $1,326,960 cash pool.
Jung and another German player Dominick Stopka held a big chip lead around 326,000 into the final table, well ahead of Mika Paasonen of Finland with 236,000 chips. The other participants in the table include 2008 PartyPoker Late Night Poker Champion Andreas Jorbeck of Sweden, Johannes Strassman of Germany, Kenneth Gregersen of Denmark, Ray Estall of Britain, Cory Albertson of the United States and Peter Steinlesburger of the United States.
Jung prevailed over Stopka during the heads-up showdown. Stopka won a total of $225,585. The first man that was edged out of the final table still won $31,845. The previous poker tournament champions of the PartyPoker.com Million include Kathy Liebert, Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren, Michael Gracz and Mike Schneider.
