Alex Jacob Participates in 2007 United States Poker Championship

2006 USPC Alex "Fro" Jacob bested 261 players to win the first place cash prize of $878,500. The USPC event was previously broadcast by ESPN but the television sports network has dropped all poker event programs that are not related to the world series of poker so it still remains to be seen on what will be the effect on the player participation this year.

The USPC event has started on September 17th, 2007 with most minimal buy-in cost poker events already finished. The USPC series will end on October 5th, 2007 with about nineteen events played in all.

The USPC started back in 1996 with future poker superstars winning at the tournament like Daniel Negreanu, Men Nguyen and Toto Leonidas. Initial reports revealed that Jeff Madsen, Gavin Smith, Cyndy Violette, Bill Edler, Bill Gazes and Steve Dannenmann paying the $10,000 buy-in cost to try and win the tournament in New Jersey.

Alex Jacob will also participate in the event and will hopefully retain his title in the event. PokerListings will be covering the event with their tournament reporter Owen Laukkannen.
