The 7th Season of the World Poker Tour on FSN

The world poker tour (WPT) starts its stay at a new home on January 4th, 2009 on Fox Sports Network, when the well-known poker show begins showing its 7th season of twenty-six episodes on Fox Sports Network. The World Poker Tour is also modifying its gaming format for the 7th season.

All final tables of the tournaments show in Season VII will be shown in two 1 hour shows to give poker enthusiasts a wide-range of card hands and a solid idea on how the final tables of these poker events played out. The Fox Sports Network is the 3rd home of the World Poker Tour. The seminal poker show spent its first five poker season on the Travel Channel, which cut the show after deciding to veer away from gaming related programs in 2007.

The World Poker Tour then move to GSN for one season, before deciding to settle down on FSN for its 7th Season. The 7th season of the World Poker Tour features some important milestones for the World Poker Tour. The 100th World Poker Tour Poker-Made Millionaire was made last year and the $400 million mark for prize money was also breached. Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten are also backed with new show hostess, Amanda Leatherman.

The WPT episodes are sponsored by FullTiltPoker.net and Southwest Airlines, which is the official airline sponsor of the World Poker Tour. While the WPT's new home is FSN, old episodes are still being broadcasted on GSN and the Travel Channel.
