One of the most popular non-profit poker tournaments on the pro circuit is coming back to Reno, Nevada on May 8th, 2010. Poker pro Jennifer Harman and the Peppermill are hosting the 2nd yearly Throw Down Poker Championship benefiting the National Kidney Foundation and is expected to lure the biggest names in the poker circuit.
More than three hundred players are expected to participate in the tournament and the players that are already confirmed for the tournament are Andy Bloch, Antonio Esfandiari, Marco Traniello, Howard Lederer, David Williams and others.
The one-of-a kind team format poker tournament awards a 2010 WSOP (world series of poker) Main Event slot to the inidividual champion and other prizes for teams and individuals, including slots in the 2010 Nevada State Championship taking place the next day.
Thanks to a group of sponsors, proceeds from the $2,500 per ten-play buy-in cost will go to the National Kidney Foundation, a cause close to Harman's heart since she herself is a two-time kidney transplant recipient. Interested individuals can also participate in the event for $230.
