2006-2007 World Series of Poker Schedule Announced

The schedule for the World Series of Poker's third season tour was recently announced by casino entertainment provider Harrah's.

The tour is to kick off on September 7 at Lake Tahoe's Harrah's-operated casino, and will then make its rounds at the rest of the Harrah's establishments. Other locations of the tour would include Grand Tunica, Caesars Indiana and Atlantic City. At the beginning of 2007, the tour will return to Grand Tunica before continuing to the cities of Horseshoe Council Bluffs, Rincon, Las Vegas, and then finally to New Orleans where the finals of the World Series of Poker are expected to be held.

The commissioner of the WSOP, Jeffrey Pollack, has also stated that participants who win the five thousand dollar buy-in no-limit hold'em Circuit Championships at one of their establishments, will not only win cash, but will also be eligible to play at the Main Event in Las Vegas, the ten thousand dollar hold'em World Championship.

The World Series of Poker aims to bring high-stakes poker excitement to players around the country. This would also be the first time that the tournament will be held in Las Vegas.

The tour will be at Tahoe, California in the middle of September, and will then move to Grand Tunica in Mississippi where it will stay until the first week of October. The tour will then resume on October 19 at Caesars in Indiana and last until November 2. The next venue from December 9 to 19 will then be Harrah's in Atlantic City.

After the Holidays, the tour will then resume on January 8, 2007, at Grand Tunica for the second time, then continue to Horseshoe Council Buffs in Iowa by late January and early February. A few days after that, the next stop will be Harrah's in Rincon, Georgia. From early March to early April, the series will then return to Atlantic City (Caesars) and Atlantic City, before moving o to Las Vegas on the last week of April. The final leg of the tour will then take place in Harrah's New Orleans, May 14 to 23, 2007.
